Caps & Covers

Chimney caps and covers play a crucial role in maintaining the integrity and functionality of your chimney system. A chimney cap acts as a shield, preventing rain, snow, debris, and animals from entering the chimney. It helps keep water out, which can cause extensive damage to the chimney structure over time. By keeping unwanted elements out, chimney caps also help prevent blockages and reduce the risk of chimney fires. Moreover, chimney covers are effective in keeping birds, squirrels, and other animals from nesting inside the chimney, thereby averting potential obstructions and safety hazards.

The purpose of a chimney is to expel smoke and gases produced by fireplaces and other appliances therefore making the opening at the top a necessity. However this opening also can lead to issues if not properly covered.

Chimney caps provide protection from water entering through the flue causing the damper and liners to rust or cracking and spalling of the liners. Chimney caps also prevent animals or degree from nesting or breaking any sort of blockage. Certain caps can also prevent embers from exiting out the chimney creating a fire hazard or may rectify backdraft issues you may be having.
